Took the ferry to the south island in the middle of the night (2:30 am). When I woke up after sleeping on the hard floor, dizzy and a bit sea sick I couldn't figure ut witch country I was in or where I was going.

After what felt like the stormiest night of my life (might have helped that we do sleep in a camper and drizzling rain sounds like pouring rain, a breeze sounds like a storm, a storm sounds like...) and another day of driving, in the evening we finally got to see some hints of the sun still shining above all the grey.

Surfing on a lake doesn't happen very often, but gale force winds gave waves on lake Taupo for a photo opportunity too good to miss.
